Tarrus Riley

Tarrus Riley ( born Omar Riley, born 1979 in the Bronx, New York, United States ) is a Jamaican -American reggae singer, member of the Rastafari movement and son of the late Jamaican singer Jimmy Riley.

Biography

Since his father was an established singer in Jamaica, Tarrus Riley came as a teenager with the Jamaican music scene in contact and took his own songs early on. In 2004, his debut album Challenges was published. For his work on this album, he received several awards, especially in the homeland of his father, Jamaica. In 2006, he released his second album under the title Parables. For his second album, he received several awards, including the CVM TV 15th Anniversary Award for the " Most Popular Song in the last 15 years " for his song She's Royal. After these successes he went around the world on tour and played on the biggest reggae festivals in the world as in 2008 on the Summerjam in Germany.

After the very successful second album and many awards in Jamaica his third studio album Contagious was released in 2009. It contains very successful songs like A New Start, Contagious and Good Girl Gone Bad featuring Konshens. In other songs he also collaborated with artists such as Etana, Duane Stephenson, Vybz Kartel and Demarco. In 2010, the Song Protect The People was released and enjoyed great success in Jamaica and throughout the Caribbean. He had great success with the song Shaka Zulu Pickney, the individuals focused on the history and famous people of the civil rights movement as Martin Luther King Also in early 2011. Also in 2011 he published more successful singles like Come Ova and Never Leave I.

In 2012, he released his acoustic album Mecoustic and went with his Blak Soil band on tour in Europe, where he was also supported in some performances by the saxophone legend Dean Fraser.
