Tarsdorf

Tarsdorf is a municipality with 2001 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the west of the Upper Austrian district of Braunau am Inn in Innviertel. The competent court is the district court district Mattighofen until 2004, the village belonged to the district court Wildshut.

Geography

Tarsdorf is located on 429 m altitude in Innviertel. The expansion is 6.8 kilometers from north to south, from west to east 7.1 km. The total area is 32.2 km ². 37.9 % of the area is forested, 54.7 % of the area is used for agriculture.

The municipality comprises the cadastral Eichbichl, paddock and Hörndl.

Coat of arms

Official description of the municipality coat of arms: In a golden red flame sword, accompanied by a silver right woodruff flower with silver handle and silver leaves, left a silver rosemary flower with silver handle and a silver blade. The municipality colors are green, white and red.

History

The town was first mentioned in 1070. For centuries belonged Tarsdorf to Bavaria. The Peace of Teschen in 1779 came the entire Innviertel with Tarsdorf to Austria. 1850, the political municipality Tarsdorf was founded.

Policy

Mayor Franz Meindl is of the ÖVP.

In 1991, the municipality had 1793 inhabitants according to the census, in 2001 then 1940 inhabitants.
