Tasiusaq, Kujalleq

Tasiusaq is a settlement in the south of Greenland, which belongs to the municipality Kujalleq ( until 1 January 2009 management community Nanortalik ). In the village of 63 inhabitants ( 2012).

Tasiusaq is on a strait that connects the Tasermiut Fjord ( Ketils Fjord ) with the Tasiusaq Bay. Due to its sheltered location, it has a pleasant climate. On the farms Saputit and Saputit Tasia next sheep even field crops is operated. The nature reserve Quinngua Valley on the nearby Tasersuaq Lake is known as the place with the only forest of Greenland: willow and birch trees which are usually only a few centimeters grow high in the subarctic climate, reach here in a few acre area a height of several meters.
