TaskJuggler

TaskJuggler is a project management software for Linux and Unix operating systems. Unlike traditional project planning programs TaskJuggler is based on a powerful project description language from which the project plan is calculated. TaskJuggler support the Project Manager in all phases of a project, from the initial idea through to completion. It provides functionality for scheduling, costing, risk analysis, status tracking and communication management.

The program features an optimizing control program that does the calculation of the time intervals for all tasks and resource allocation. The Ressourcenbalancierer automatically prevents overloading of individual resources. The flexible project description language, the project manager can each accommodate as many details in the plan, just as are known. TaskJuggler then calculates the remaining data and allows any time to add more data as soon as they become known.

The TaskJuggler Project was founded in 2001 by Christian racket as an open source project. First, it was a command line program that generated reports in HTML. Since August 2004 it has a graphical front-end based on the KDE libraries. In version 3 of this graphical frontend but was removed again.
