Tatenokai

The Tatenokai (Japanese楯 の 会, dt "Shield Society ") was a right-wing private militia in Japan, which was dedicated to the fight against communism, the preservation of traditional values ​​and the protection or the worship of the Tenno.

The group was founded on October 5, 1968 by the writer Yukio Mishima. Your about 80 members were recruited mainly from the readership of the journal Ronso, a right-wing student newspaper. The Tatenokai allowed with the permission of Defence Minister Nakasone Yasuhiro train together with units of the Japanese Self-Defense Forces and received financial support over Prime Minister Eisaku Satō.
