Tatu Vanhanen

Tatu Vanhanen ( born April 17, 1929) is a professor emeritus of political science at the University of Tampere in Finland. He is co- author of the book "IQ and the Wealth of Nations " in which he attempts to prove a link between the IQ of a country's population and gross domestic product per capita. The Finnish National Bureau of Investigantion determined against Vanhanen because incites hatred or racist remarks in an interview with the magazine Kuukausiliite.

To measure the degree of democratization of a country he developed the Vanhanen index.

Tatu Vanhanen is the father of former Finnish Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen.
