Tatyana Shemyakina

Tatiana Alexandrovna Schemjakina (Russian Татьяна Александровна Шемякина, English transcription Tatyana Shemyakina, . Born September 3, 1987 in Makarowka, Mordovia ) is a Russian race walker.

She started at the age of 15 years with walking as a sport. First successes came quickly. In 2004, she won the title at regional championships over 3km in the Junior Women. At international level, she made for the first time attention as the Second World Junior Championships in 2006 in Beijing. In the same year she qualified in fifth place at the Russian championships over 20 km for the U23 European Championships 2007 in Debrecen. There she won the gold medal in 1:28:48 h and thus improved the European record in her age group.

They celebrated their biggest success at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka, as they with a time of 1:30:42 hours behind her compatriot Olga Kaniskina the silver medal on the 20 - km - distance won.
