τ1 Gruis ( alternatively also Tau1 Gruis or Tau1 Gruis ) is a star system in the constellation crane, which is located in 109 light years away from the Earth and consists of a star and at least one exoplanet.

The Star

τ1 Gruis has about 1.25 times the mass of our sun and is a yellow-orange dwarf star whose spectral type G0 -G3 is. The diameter of the star is about twice as large as that of the sun and its brightness is about 4 times of the sun.

The Planet

The exoplanet, orbiting the star is denoted by τ1 Gruis b, has at least 1.23 times the mass of Jupiter ( other sources speak of at least 1.49 Jupiter masses) and needs to orbit the star about three and a half years.
