Dove at Aken

The dove is a right tributary of the Saale in Saxony- Anhalt, where south of the Elbe in the Mosigkauer heath near Dessau, southwest of the local part Möst the city Raguhn - Jeßnitz ( in the FFH area " pigeon - sources and floodplain at Möst " ) arises, .

It opens just before the Saale River Estuary at Barby in the Saale.

Origin of the name

The name comes from the Old High German toub or the Middle High German toup. This means numb, empty, void, worthless but also slow - which is to start from a slow flowing stream.
