Taufik Hidayat ( born August 10, 1981 in Bandung ) is an Indonesian badminton player and Olympic champion. Hidayat is one of the world's best badminton player and one of the most popular sports in Indonesia.

Career

He began at the age of seven years with badminton and won between 2000 and 2004, six of the most important tournaments in badminton. At the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000 he reached the quarterfinals at the Badminton 2001 World Championships in Seville already the semifinals.
