Tautonym

The Tautonym ( Greek: τὸ αὐτό tò autó that same ' and ὄνομα onoma, the name ') is in the biological nomenclature of the same name, which is used for both a genus and for a consolidated manner, such as Salamandra salamandra.

The International Rules for Zoological Nomenclature let Tautonyme. In zoology, why is a Tautonym the requirement for a nominotypisches taxon with triple use of the name, such as Bufo bufo bufo.

The International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi and plants closes under Article 23.4 of the use of Tautonymen in botany, so that such a name can not be validly published (Art. 23.4. ). However, it is sufficient even a small difference; For example, Ziziphus zizyphus is permitted.
