Tavriisk

Tawrijsk (Ukrainian Таврійськ; Russian Таврийск / Tawrisk ) is a city in the southern Ukrainian Kherson on the right bank of the Dnieper River. The town with 10,700 inhabitants ( 2013) located 5 kilometers east of the city of Nowa Kachowka, 10 kilometers southwest of Kachowka and 64 kilometers northeast of the Oblasthauptstadt Kherson. For the municipality, the municipal Plodowe counts ( Плодове ), which is located south of the city.

The town was founded as a settlement and part of Nowa Kachowka on Kachowkaer reservoir and lies at the mouth of the Northern Krimkanals in the reservoir. On 2 March 1983, she was separated from Nowa Kachowka and incorporated as an independent city.
