Taw

Tā ʾ, تاء, is the third letter of the Arabic alphabet, and ( as Te ), the fourth of the Persian. It was derived from the Phoenician Taw and thus related to the Latin t, the Greek and the Hebrew Tau Taw. He is assigned the value 400.

Phonetic value and inscription

The Ta corresponds to the German T in " town," it is not aspirated ( breathed not, so it comes in speaking no air from the mouth ) and it is softer than the aspirated German "T" in " Theodore ". It is reproduced in the DMG romanization with "t".

Ta is a sun point, i.e., a preceding al ( specific item) is assimilated.
