Tawern

Tawern is a municipality in the Trier -Saar castle in Rhineland- PfalzSie part of the municipality Konz. Tawern is a nationally recognized tourist.

Geography

The community lies on the edge of the Saar -Hunsrück. On the slope of Albachtal lies to the west of the village of Fell Erich. The hamlet Tawern the residential places Merten Mill, Supreme mouse mill and Bottom mouse mill, for the hamlet Fellerich include the fur Longericher mill.

History

The place name comes from the Latin word taberna Tawern ( and malls ). The first settlement was founded about 2000 years ago by the Romans, almost coinciding with the Roman colonization in Trier.

The name refers to the birth of the village in Roman times and its original mission. Well simultaneously with the Roman temple district at the Metz Mountain, likely in the 1st century AD. at the foot of the mountain, through which a major trade route led to Metz, a " taberna ", a rest area with pre-and substation for draft animals have arisen. The Latin emphasis on the city name on the second syllable can be a continuous settlement since Roman times suspect. Today Tawern has become the popular Residential and is a recognized tourist destination in the recreation area Upper Mosel- Saar and in the Saar -Hunsrück.

There is a partially reconstructed temple in the forest on the mountain over Metz Tawern.

On July 20, 1946 Tawern was attached together with a further 80 municipalities in the counties of Trier and the Saar castle on February 16, 1946, separated from the rest of the French occupation zone Saarland. On June 8, 1947, this French territorial expansion was taken back down to 21 municipalities again so Tawern came to the 1946 newly formed state of Rhineland -Palatinate.

In October 2004 Tawern received a "new" amphitheater, which was built in 72 hours of motivated young people from the youth group Tawern under a SWR3 action. It is located in the district of Im Brühl. Mid-2005 in a new building area Tawern opened "In the Night", where there are nearly 100 new residential lots. The next building area is already being planned.

On March 17, 1974, until then independent municipality Fellerich was incorporated.

Community policy

The local council in Tawern consists of 20 council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 of personalized proportional representation, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
