Conservation

The Gelbbrusttinamu is classified as hardly threatened in IUCN and have a distribution area of 110,000 km ². The population in Peru is limited to small areas and could represent a separate subspecies because of their different coloration ( reddish top of the head ). This would be more at risk because of their small distribution area.
