Taxiing

Taxiing (verb: to taxi ) is derived from the English term flyer language for the slow movement of an aircraft on the ground, for example to reach after leaving the runway to the apron. In contrast to the pushback the taxiing is done of their own accord.

In this case the aircraft or the aircraft on wheels, skids or air cushion can move (some helicopters ).

The aircraft at an airport or an airport taxi on an asphalt, concrete or simply fixed runway or a grassy area. The airport runways are therefore also called taxiway.

For the aircraft, there are at airfields speed limits. A maximum speed for rolling aircraft is not set legally binding worldwide. In Germany you will find limits, if set, in the Airport Rules and Regulations of the airport. The airlines set internally also speed limits in the flight operations manual for their flight operations.
