Taylor County (Kentucky)

Taylor County is a county located in the state of Kentucky in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is named Campbellsville, it was named after the founder Andrew Campbell. The county is one of the Dry counties, which means that the sale of alcohol is restricted or prohibited.

Geography

The County is located roughly at the geographical center of Kentucky and has an area of ​​718 square kilometers, of which 19 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Marion County, Casey County, Adair County, Green County and LaRue County.

History

Taylor County was formed on January 13, 1848 from parts of Green County. It was named for President Zachary Taylor.
