Taylor Fletcher
Taylor Fletcher (born 11 May 1990 in Steamboat Springs ) is an American ski jumpers and Nordic combined.
Career
2005-2010
On December 10, 2005 Fletcher made his debut in B- World Cup Nordic Combined. Following a rather poor performance, he started from 2007, a year at the Junior World Championship, but also reached there no top rankings. On 31 January 2009 he was in Chaux- Neuve his debut in the World Cup Nordic Combined. On 10 January 2010, he won two World Cup points in Val di Fiemme with the 29th place for the first time. However, after he was unable to win points in Štrbské Pleso won no medals also at the Nordic Junior World Championship 2009, he was returned to the Continental Cup Nordic Combined. After two good finishes in Park City, he was able to reach 19 December 2009 in Lake Placid for the first time on the podium and so came in January 2010, back in the World Cup. After the points he just missed in Oberhof, him for the first time succeeded in Predazzo a points win in the individual Gundersen 10 km.
Once again he was left at the Nordic World Ski Championships Junior 2010 in Hinterzarten in the Nordic combined up to expectations, he joined the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver in ski jumping and in combination. In the team competition ski jumpers he reached the 11th place jointly with Anders Johnson, Peter Frenette and Nick Alexander. In the combination, he reached the 45th place in the Gundersen competition on the normal hill and over 10 km.
After the Olympics, he missed the World Cup in Lahti scored points in both contests significantly. Therefore, he was transferred back for the final two contests of the 2009/10 season in the Continental Cup. He won both competitions in Kuusamo Continental Cup points. In the summer of 2010, he started in the Summer Grand Prix and reached there in the first competition in Oberstdorf the points. After another average rankings and 14th in Oberwiesenthal he finished the Grand Prix at the end on the 29th place in the overall standings.
From 2010/11 season
The start of the 2010/11 season was unsuccessful for Fletcher. After he did not land in Kuusamo and Lillehammer in points, he started once again in Park City for a race in the Continental and immediately became again third. In the subsequent World Cup he was once again fell short of expectations. It was only on January 16, 2011 in Seefeld in Tirol he succeeded with the 29th place again a points win. After two podium finishes at the Continental Cup in Harrachov, he started at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo, Norway. He reached the 26th and on the large hill in 35th place in the individual Gundersen on the normal hill. After two point-less World Cup after the World Cup, he finished the season in 55th place overall.
In the Summer Grand Prix in Oberwiesenthal Fletcher again managed a good ranking with the 21th Place. Unfortunately, he did this at the start of the World Cup season 2011/12 do not repeat and missed in Kuusamo again the points. For him but nearly succeeded in the first competition of Lillehammer # 21 of the leap into the top twenty. In December, he again went to his home in order to meet the Continental Cup in Park City. After a second place in the first single he was in the team sprint together with Nick Hendrickson as Team USA I third parties. The following individual competition won Fletcher before completing the Continental Park City with a second and a seventh place.
When Team World Cup on January 7, 2012 in Oberstdorf Fletcher finished fifth in common with Johnny Spillane, Bryan Fletcher and Bill Demong. It was the best team result for Fletcher ever in the World Cup. Once a week later he could only score in one of three competitions in Chaux -Neuve, his path led two weeks later again in the Continental, where he won in Klingenthal after a third place in the first single to second competition significantly. On 14 February 2012 he succeeded with 14th place at the World Cup in Val di Fiemme be until then the best individual result in the World Cup. After a further point gains in Klingenthal and Liberec, he finished the season in 36th place in the World Cup overall standings.
In the Summer Grand Prix 2012 Fletcher joined only in Sochi and was named after a disqualification in the first competition, in the second surprising tenth. After the World Cup season 2012/13 started with a point win in Lillehammer and he was even disqualified in the first World Cup in Kuusamo, Fletcher reached in Austria Ramsau surprisingly tenth place. He repeated this success in January in Chaux- Neuve. After he narrowly missed the podium in Seefeld January 19, 2013, and came in fifth, of him into the top three succeeded the next day with third place in the same place for the first time in a World Cup.
In the Nordic World Ski Championships 2013 Fletcher reached in the individual normal hill from the 25th place and won the team competition in collaboration with Bryan Fletcher, Todd Lodwick and Bill Demong the bronze medal.
