Taylor Pyatt

Taylor Nelson Pyatt ( born August 19, 1981 in Thunder Bay, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. He currently plays for the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League. His father, Nelson and his brother Tom was and is also a professional hockey player.

Career

Taylor Pyatt was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1999 in the first round to eighth position overall by the New York Islanders. In his last season in the Ontario Hockey League, he scored 89 points in 68 games, which earned him a nomination for the All -Star game.

After his rookie season of 2000 / 01, in which he was able to achieve 18 points in 78 games, he was transferred from the Islanders along with Tim Connolly in exchange for Michael Peca to New York at the Buffalo Sabres.

During the lockout in the 2004/ 05 NHL season he played in the second Swedish league with Hammarby IF. After another year in Buffalo Pyatt was sent on 14 July 2006 in exchange for a fourth- round draft pick to the Vancouver Canucks. In Vancouver, he played in the series along with the twins Henrik and Daniel Sedin, what his points haul zugutekam and where he could put up with 37 points each in the first two seasons a new personal record.

On 2 September 2009, he signed as a free agent contract with the Phoenix Coyotes.
