Tchéky Karyo

Tchéky Karyo ( born October 4, 1953 in Istanbul, Turkey; actually Baruch Djaki Karyo ) is a French actor.

Life

The son of Jewish parents grew up in Paris. Karyo studied drama at the Cyrano Theatre and became a member of the Compagnie Daniel Sorano. From there he moved to the Nationaltheather Strasbourg, where he began to learn Aikido. Karyo played since 1982 in more than 80 films, mostly in French productions. But he also achieved a leap to Hollywood, where he became larger supporting roles.

In 1983 Karyo was at the presentation of the movie César Award for La Balance - nominated The Betrayal ( La Balance ) as Best Young Actor. In 1986, he received the Jean Gabin Prize. In 1990 he was awarded the Mystfest for Corps perdus and Luc Besson Nikita as best actor. His role in Nikita as an instructor of the title character represented by Anne Parillaud made ​​Karyo known internationally.

Tchéky Karyo was married from 1995 to Isabelle Pasco. The couple has two children and is now divorced.
