Te Karaka

Te Karaka is a small settlement in the inland of Gisborne region in the northeast of the North Island of New Zealand. It lies in the valley of the Waipaoa River near Puha where it unites with the Waihora River. Te Karaka is located on State Highway 2 and is the largest settlement between the city of Gisborne and Opotiki.

At the 2006 census the town had a population of 543 permanent residents.
