Teachta Dála

Teachta Dala [t ʲ axtə dɑ ː lə ] (abbreviated TD, dt " deputy [ the ] Convention", "Member of [the] Dáil " ) is the Irish name for a Member of Dáil Éireann, the lower house of Parliament ( Oireachtas ) of the Republic of Ireland.

The name goes back to the year 1918 and was at that time to refer to the members of parliament ( MP originally - Members of Parliament ) were introduced, who were elected at the election in 1918. A majority of these deputies took her (actually provided ) based in Westminster are not one and gathered herself instead as a revolutionary parliament in Dublin, which they called " Dáil Éireann " (also: First Dáil ) called, " Assembly of Ireland ".
