Teatro Giuseppe Verdi

The Teatro Giuseppe Verdi is a named after Giuseppe Verdi Opera House in Busseto, Emilia -Romagna, Italy.

The Teatro has 300 spaces and is within the Rocca Pallavicino, an old castle in Piazza Giuseppe Verdi. Although Verdi opposed the construction of the opera house and has never set foot in it, he donated 10,000 lire for the establishment. The construction began in 1856 and the opening of the building took place on August 15, 1868 with a performance of Verdi's opera Rigoletto and Un ballo in maschera instead. In 1913, Arturo Toscanini conducted here in honor of Verdi's Falstaff whose play.
