Techiman (also Takyiman, Tekyiman, Tekyiman - Brong ) is a town in the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana, (West Africa). The city is located about 100 kilometers north of Kumasi on the River Tano and in 2007 had 75,000 inhabitants, which is about a three-fold since the census of 1984 ( 25,264 inhabitants). History

According to the oral tradition of the Fante this people has migrated about 1300 from the region around Techiman to the coast.
