Technetium (VII ) oxide is an inorganic chemical compound of technetium from the group of oxides.
Production and representation
Technetium (VII ) oxide can be obtained by reaction of technetium with oxygen at 450-500 ° C.
It is also formed in the disproportionation of technetium ( VI) oxide.
Properties
Technetium (VII ) oxide is a light yellow, very hygroscopic solid of needle-shaped in the form of crystals. He has in the solid state molecular structure and has an orthorhombic crystal structure with space group Pbca (a = 1375.6 pm, b = 743.9 pm, c = 561.7 pm ). It is soluble in water to form Pertechnetiumsäure HTcO4, wherein the concentrated solution has a pink color.
