Technological Threat

Technological Threat is an American animated short film directed by Bill Kroyer from the year 1988. It was created in a mixture of hand-drawn and computer animation.

Action

A Cubicle, working in the louder foxes: As one of the workers exhausted breaks down, the boss appears, opens by pressing a button a hatch that let workers desk and disappear into the ground, and a new desktop appears. A short time later, the new table is staffed by a worker robot that works constantly and effectively. Over time, as all workers to be replaced, either because they drank a sip, have yawned or sneezed. The head is replaced by a robot.

Only a fox remains, which provides high speed by panic no grounds for dismissal. He now fights the robot, disrupts their functioning, smashes them or dumped them using the button in the bottom. A single robot is back, now with the fox delivers a duel. When the robot boss appears and both are on a hatch door and threaten to be sunk, they make it through collective action, instead the boss to sink themselves. Both stand together on the open hatch and stare into the depths. The fox takes the opportunity and also meets the last working robot into the depths. Left alone, he puts on the dropped cigar of the boss and is now himself the boss.

Awards

Technological Threat in 1989 for an Oscar in the category " Best Animated Short Film " nomination, but could not prevail against tin toy itself.

At the Ottawa International Animation Festival Kroyer the OIAF Award won for Best Film with a length less than 5 minutes.
