Technology museum

A Technical Museum archives and provides technical achievements, mainly historical objects from. Technical visions of the future are mainly presented in the Science Centers. The most historically important art museums in Europe are

  • The Musée des Arts et Métiers in Paris, founded in 1794,
  • The Science Museum in London founded in 1857,
  • The German Museum of Masterpieces of Science and Technology in Munich, founded in 1925 and
  • The Technical Museum of Industry and Commerce founded in Vienna, 1918.

Further technical museums in Germany include the German Technology Museum in Berlin- Kreuzberg and the Technoseum in Mannheim and the Museum of Technology Magdeburg. The most prestigious of its kind in Austria is the Vienna Technical Museum.

In addition, numerous other independent museums for certain technical genres such as museums or traffic for certain brands and industries, such as mining, chemicals, instruments, musical instruments, ceramics or paper exist as art museums.
