Techny, originally an independent municipality, since 1989 a district of Northbrook ( Cook County ), Illinois, in the United States.

Techny is known as the American headquarters of the Congregation of the Divine Word Missionaries (SVD, Divine Word Missionaries ). Opened in 1909, St. Mary's Mission Seminary in Techny was the first seminar in the USA, which was intended primarily to prepare priests for foreign missions.
