Ted Lindsay Award

The Ted Lindsay Award (up to April 29, 2010 Lester B. Pearson Award ) is an ice hockey award in the National Hockey League, which has been awarded since 1971 by the players union National Hockey League Players' Association NHLPA to the most valuable player in the regular season. In contrast to Hart Memorial Trophy, awarded to the already since 1924 the MVP of the league, the winners are selected not by journalists but by the players themselves.

The trophy was the introduction by Lester B. Pearson, Prime Minister of Canada from 1963 to 1968 and 1957 winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, named. On 29 April 2010, renamed Ted Lindsay Award was made. Ted Lindsay was involved as a player instrumental in the founding of the NHLPA.
