Ted Post

Ted Post ( born March 31, 1918 in Brooklyn, New York; † August 20, 2013 in Santa Monica, California ) was an American theater, film and television director.

Life and career

Ted Post moved as a successful theater director at the beginning of the 1950s to television and directed episodes of various television series such as Armstrong Circle Theatre and Waterfront. For the latter, Ted Post 1955 was nominated for an Emmy.

In addition, he directed Gunsmoke and The Twilight Zone. Posts to known films belongs Hang 'Em High from the year 1968. 1970 he was the director of Beneath the Planet of the Apes, the first sequel to the classic Planet of the Apes. He always remained faithful to the television, despite these films and so staged, including two episodes of the crime series Columbo: Columbo: Murder at the embassy and Columbo: Blood Red dust.

Post was married until the end of his life and the father of two children.
