Teddy Billington

Edwin " Teddy" Billington (* July 14, 1882 in Southampton, † August 8, 1966 in Pine Brook ) was an American cyclist.

When Teddy Billington was a baby, his parents emigrated with him from the UK to the USA. He grew up in Vailsburg, which was one of the strongholds of the track cycling in the United States at that time. At the Olympic Games in 1904 in St. Louis, he raced in seven disciplines on the track and won four medals: one bronze in the third -, fourth - and a whole mile. In the race, about half a mile, he won the silver medal, though he had to ride on a borrowed bike, as his own had not yet arrived by train.
