Teddy Newton

Teddy Newton (* in Encino ) is an American animator, director and actor.

Life

Newton grew up in Dana Point. He attended the California Institute of the Arts and completed his training in the early 1990 's. Subsequently, he worked at Walt Disney Productions and DreamWorks. When Warner Bros. Newton worked alongside Brad Bird among others in the film The Iron Giant. Increasingly, Newton was also independently active as an animator. He produced the film The Trouble with Lou, on whose screenplay he co-wrote, and was involved among other things, as a screenwriter and director on the animated film Boys Night Out, which was nominated for an Annie Award.

In 2002 Newton went to Pixar and designed, among other things, the characters in the film The Incredibles. With Brad Bird, he worked cloudy together even with Ratatouille, Your Friend the Rat, Presto and partly. In addition, he borrowed many Pixar animated figures his voice and entered into short films as an actor in appearance.

As a screenwriter and director Newton acted in the short animated film Day & Night, for which he was nominated for an Oscar in 2011.

For Day & Night Newton was nominated in 2011 for an Oscar in the category " Best Animated Short Film ", but could not prevail against The Lost Thing itself.
