Teddy Purcell

Edward "Teddy" Purcell ( born September 8, 1985 in St. John's, Newfoundland ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is since March 2010 by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Teddy Purcell began his career as a hockey player with the Notra Dame Hounds, for which he was active in the 2003/04 season in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. After two seasons with the Cedar Rapids Roughriders of the United States Hockey League, the attacker played in the 2006/07 season for the team from the University of Maine in the National Collegiate Athletic Association.

Purcell, who was never drafted earlier, was on 27 April 2007 committed as a free agent by the Los Angeles Kings, for which he needed three points scorer, including a goal scored in the 2007/ 08 season in ten games in the National Hockey League. However, the majority of the season he spent at their farm team, the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, for whom he in 67 games 83 scorer points, including 25 goals recorded. He was the player with the third most points scorer in the AHL. In the 2008 / 09 season, Purcell was in 38 games in which he reached 38 points scorer for the Monarchs in the AHL on the ice, and in 40 games in which he scored 16 points scorer for the Kings in the NHL.

Purcell launched the 2009/10 season with the Los Angeles Kings in the NHL and scored three goals in 41 games. He also had three assists and collected six points. On 3 March 2010, he went to the Tampa Bay Lightning and Jeff Halpern to the Kings. By the end of the season he scored in 19 games for the Lightning scored three goals and had six assists.
