Tegkwitz On December 1, 2008, a district of the municipality Stark Mountain in the district Altenburger Land in Thuringia. Prior to the incorporation Tegkwitz belonged to the administrative community Altenburger Land. In the entire district with the localities Breesen, Kreutzen, Misselwitz and Tegkwitz currently live 312 inhabitants, in the village of Tegkwitz alone 267

Geography

Tegkwitz is about 7 km west of the county town of Altenburg, and is located approximately at an altitude of 190 meters. In the former church, which the hamlets Breesen (18 inhabitants), Kreutzen (14 inhabitants) and Misselwitz (13 inhabitants) comprised an area of 4.73 km ², lived the end of 2007, 321 people.

In Tegkwitz is since 24 February 2010, an official weather reporting station of the MDR.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms of the former municipality was divided transversely, the lower half is split. Above is on a red background a silver lute to recognize, bottom left on a blue ground two golden Gegenzinnbalken and right a black cross cross in gold with a silver lily occupied.

History

In a document of King Conrad III. from the year 1143 is called a Erkenbertus de Tecuiz. Tegkwitz was similar to Stark Mountain, a manor seat, which was a water castle. In 1834 it went to a local pastor, who built almost the entire Good broke off and Nachfolgebauten. The community Tegkwitz was taken on July 1, 1950 with inclusion of Breesen and the community Kreutzen, with the hamlet Misselwitz. On 1 December 2008 Tegkwitz was incorporated into Stark Mountain, the merger agreement was signed together with Obernaundorf Altenburger Land on February 26th at the District Office, last honorary mayor was Hans -Georg Böhme ( volunteer fire department ). The municipal office was preserved and is now used as venue for the Ortsteilrat and seat of the district mayor.

Attractions

  • The town's landmark is the Romanesque church in the core with the Ersterwähnungsjahr 1228 dar. The tower dates from this period, the nave was built in the 15th century in Gothic style. The pulpit in the interior dates from around 1650, the Patronatsloge and the galleries from the year 1703.
  • In the village Breesen is the most typical Altenburger four-sided, the court Heitsch, whose oldest CURRENT building, a barn from 1747 comes from. The house and the stables were built in 1759, the barn and the cowshed in 1763 1765th
