Tegna

Mantegna was up on April 13, 2013 a municipality in the district Melezza, in the district of Locarno in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. On April 14, 2013 Tegna was merged with Cavigliano and Verscio to the new community Terre di Pedemonte.

Geography

Mantegna is located in the lower Onsernonetal. The municipality includes the town of Ponte Brolla. Until the merger, the neighboring communities Avegno TI, Locarno, Losone and Verscio were.

History

On September 22, 2002, an advisory vote was held for the new municipality of Pedemonte for fusion project of the communities Tegna, Verscio and Cavigliano. The project was abandoned after the negative vote of the voters of Tegna.
