Tehrangeles

Tehrangeles (Persian تهرانجلس ) is a portmanteau word, which consists of Tehran and Angeles. It usually refers to the large community of Iranian exiles in Los Angeles area in California. With 700000-800000 people of Iranian origin there, the largest Persian expatriate community living around the world.

The Iranian community has been concentrated in the district of Westwood. Since the Islamic revolution in Iran in 1979, but the number of Iranian exiles in Los Angeles took too strong, so that people of Persian origin are now scattered all over the city.
