Tehuacalco

Tehuacalco ( Nahuatl: place the stone back-pack ) is an archaeological site in the Mexican state of Guerrero, about 50km northwest of Acapulco, east of the town of Tierra Colorada. The site is the post-classical culture of Yopi attributed to their home region, called Yopitzinco, by the Aztecs could not be captured.

The first recognized in 1991, archaeological site includes several pyramid-like base and palaces around a central square. The ball court is unusual in its construction. At the collecting site, which is open to the public since 2008 and also has a small museum, also located petroglyphs.
