Teide 1

Teide 1 is a discovered around 1995 astronomical object of the genus brown dwarf at a distance of 125 pc to the earth. Teide 1 comprises about 20-50 Jupiter masses and is thus comparable with Gliese 229 B, and the slightly larger PPl 15, Teide 1 and PPl 15 are single objects, while Gliese 229 B with its partner Gliese 229 A is a binary star system forms (→ Gliese 229).
