TEJO

Tejo ( Tutmonda Esperantista Junulara Organizo, mostly on German World Esperanto Youth Organization or short World Esperanto Youth called ) is an organization for Esperanto speakers up to the age of 30 years. Tejo in 1938 under the name Tutmonda Junular - Organizo ( World Youth Organization) founded in 1952 and renamed to the current name. 1956 Tejo was the youth section of the UEA. In 1971, the Finance and Administration have been fully integrated in the UEA.

Tejo organized a held at different locations International Youth Congress annually. The IJK is a week-long meeting with concerts, presentations, excursions and some other leisure and recreational opportunities, but also discussions and educational events. The numbers of participants are usually a few hundred, who come from several dozen countries.

TEJO promotes international understanding through youth exchange, educational programs and the use of the international language Esperanto. The association defends the cultural richness of linguistic diversity, the human rights of linguistic minorities and global understanding through easy access to international contacts.

Tejo are two periodicals, Kontakto and Tejo Tutmonde ( Tejo worldwide); also aktuale the Internet Tejo. Kontakto directed for several years more at beginners and young readers and contains articles on general topics in simple language. Tejo Tutmonde provides news about the Esperanto youth activities internationally. TEJO aktuale informed of updates throughout Esperantoland.

Tejo organized Pasporta servo, a network of people who speak Esperanto and are willing to voice other friends to offer a free place to stay.
