Tekle Giyorgis II.

Tekle Giyorgis II ( äthiop. ተክለ ጊዮርጊስ, before his coronation Wagshum Gobeze ዋግሹም ጎበዜ, † 1873) was from 1868 to 1871 Kaiser ( amhar.: Negus Nagast, " King of Kings " ) of Abyssinia.

Life

Tekle Giyorgis father's side was a descendant of the old Zagwe Dynasty, which had been removed from power in the 13th century by the Solomonic dynasty, who also came from his mother and had subsequently withdrawn by Wag and Lasta (hence the title Wag Shum ).
