Teko Modise
Tsholofelo " Teko " Modise ( born December 22, 1982 in Soweto ) is a South African football player. The attacking midfielder has since 2007 at the Orlando Pirates signed and part of the contingent of the South African national team.
Club career
Modise made his Erstligadebüt in South Africa on September 2, 2001 Ria Stars against Wits University. After the club was bought for 2002/ 03 by the South African Association in return for compensation from the league to reduce the number of participants, Modise joined the second division Pietersburg Pillars. With the Pillars, the renamed in 2005 in City Pillars, he missed promotion to the Premier Soccer League several times scarce. When he was awarded by the 2005/06 season as the best player in the league, and failed in the Ascension Play-offs with the Pillars, he moved to first division club SuperSport United.
After only one year at the Super Sport he signed surprising at Premier League rivals Orlando Pirates a three -year contract. For the Pirates, he became the star player and performer of his team and advertising for numerous companies ( McDonald's, Samsung, Nike ). 2008 and 2009, he was honored as the best player of the highest South African league as PSL Footballer of the Year.
National
Modise was first appointed to the South African national team for the COSAFA Cup 2007 and led the team to win the tournament. He scored in the tournament all three goals in South Africa ( was the best scorer next Voavy Paulin ) and was voted best player of the tournament. In January 2008 he took part as a regular player at the disappointing Vorrundenaus at the African Cup of Nations in Ghana.
