Telekom Slovenije

Telekom Slovenije, dd is a telecommunications company in Slovenia. The company has its headquarters in Ljubljana and is listed as a public company since October 2, 2006 at the Ljubljanska borza. The Telekom Slovenije Group is present in several countries in South East Europe and Gibraltar.

History

The company was founded in 1995 after the split of PTT Slovenije into two independent companies Posta Slovenije and Telekom Slovenije. A year later established the Telekom Slovenije be responsible for Internet services company Slovenija Online. In 1998 the Telekom was privatized and converted into a public limited company.

In the following years, the company expanded both in Slovenia and in neighboring countries. Thus, in 2002 brought a the Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL ) and had two years later, more than 50,000 customers. 2005 established the Telekom Slovenije subsidiary GMO doo and acquired a total of 75 percent of the shares in Avtenta.si.

In the years 2006 and 2007, Telekom Slovenije acquired the Macedonian On.net, Kosovo's telecommunications company IPKO and Blic.net from Bosnia and Herzegovina and shares in Gibtelecom from Gibraltar to Aneks (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and Albanian Online Service Provider ( today Primo). In addition, 2006 saw the listing on the Ljubljanska borza.

2011 Founded in 1991, Slovenian mobile operator Mobitel was acquired by Telekom Slovenije and is since then as a brand of the company.

On August 31, 2013 it was announced that the Slovenian state wants its 73 percent stake in Telekom Slovenije sell.
