Telephone hook

The hook switch is a component of analog telephones. Other designations are hook switch and English. hook switch.

It is used for signaling on the connection line to the exchange or PABX. The signaling that takes the hook switch, are the documents ( connection request ) and triggering ( connector end ). With the hookswitch when you lift the handset of the phone Einschaltevorgang is triggered. On an incoming call, the call is accepted by the lift-off, when picking up the handset without a pending call, the phone is placed in readiness to vote ( you can hear the dial tone). The name hookswitch dates from the time when the telephone sets for the rest of the handset, a fork- like device had (see picture of the phone W38 and EB08 ).
