Known representatives are Pat Robertson, Billy Graham, Jimmy Swaggart, Ted Haggard, Gene Scott, Jerry Falwell, Jerry Vines, Benny Hinn, Marcus Lamb, Jim Bakker and Peter Popoff. The latter two were convicted of fraud and financial irregularities.

In Europe, the phenomenon of televangelist is not widespread, television stations such as Bible TV, K TV or ERF television daily reach only a few tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of spectators and also act less on the person of a preacher bound than comparable stations in the United States. The Polish broadcaster TV TRWAM, which was founded as the radio station Radio Maria Tadeusz Rydzyk, reached an audience of 0.15%.

TV preachers in Islam

In Muslim countries, televangelists are mostly Sunnis, but not, as often stated erroneously fundamentalists or Islamists. One of the most popular Sunni scholar who has the opportunity to speak almost weekly, Yusuf al -Qaradawi (on al - Jazeera in the program Ash- Sharia wa al - Haja ). Very popular also the Egyptian Amr Khaled is ( not a scholar ) that occurs among others in the channel Iqra Islam of Arab Radio and Television Network.
