Telfair County, Georgia

The Telfair County is a county located in the state of Georgia in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is McRae.

Geography

The County is located in the central south-east of Georgia and has an area of 1150 square kilometers, of which eight square kilometers of water surface, and borders clockwise to the following counties: Wheeler County, Jeff Davis County, Coffee County, Ben Hill County, Wilcox County and Dodge County.

History

Telfair County was formed on December 10, 1807 35 County of Georgia. It was named after Edward Telfair, a native Scots and governor of Georgia.
