Tello Alfonso, Lord of Aguilar de Campoo

Tello Alfonso of Castile ( Don Tello, * 1337 in Seville, † October 15, 1370 ), was Lord of Biscay, First Lord of Aguilar de Campoo and Count of Castañeda. He was the seventh illegitimate son of King Alfonso XI. of Castile and Leonor de Guzman. Thus he was the brother of Henry of Trastamara and Fadrique of Castile and the half-brother of King Peter the Cruel.

Although the rule of Biscay by the arranging of his marriage with the widow of the incumbent, Joan of Lara, was given by King Peter, he assisted his brothers in their rebellion against the king, which he blamed for the death of his mother ( 1351 ). 1359 was also his wife the king to the victim.

In 1367 he commanded the Franco- Castilian troops in the defeat of Nájera against the army Peters.

After his death in 1370 Biscay was combined with the Castilian crown. The county Castañeda and the rule of Aguilar de Campoo went to his offspring.
