Tellurate

Tellurate are the salts of telluric acid ( H6TeO6 orthotelluric and Metatellursäure H2TeO4 ) and contain the Orthotellurat (VI) or the anion - TeO66 Metatellurat (VI ) anion - TeO42. Also referred to as salts of Tellurite tellurous acid ( H2TeO3 ), are referred to by the nomenclature TeO32 IUPAC rules as now tellurates (IV) with the anion.

Tellurates (VI ) are well suited as an oxidizing agent, as they can be easily reduced to tellurates (IV).

Tellurates can be represented in molten salts at temperatures above 700 ° C except by precipitation from aqueous solution by reaction of metal oxides with the anhydrides of orthotelluric ( tellurium TeO3 ) and tellurous acid ( tellurium dioxide TeO2 ).
