Telnice (Brno-Country District)

Telnice ( German Telnitz ) is a municipality in the region South Moravian Region ( Czech Republic) with about 1260 inhabitants, on the road connecting Hodonín and Brno. It lies in the valley of the Říčka ( Goldbach ).

History

The first written record comes from the year 1244. The history of the village was marked by the passage of belligerent armies. After the Asian hordes, it was the armies of Napoleon at the Battle of Austerlitz and also the Second World War did not spare the village.

The majority of the population lives from agriculture or work in the nearby capital of Moravia, Brno.
