Telnice (Ústí nad Labem District)

Telnice ( German Tellnitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located nine kilometers north-west of Ústí nad Labem on the southern slopes of the eastern Ore Mountains.

Geography

The 345 m in altitude southwest of the Nollendorfer altitude in the alpine valley of the creek Telnický ( Tellnitz ) located village lies on the railway, which runs westward from Decin at the foot of the Erzgebirge. One kilometer south of the route of the Dálnice runs 8

Neighboring towns are Varvažov in the south, Žandov the southwest, Liboňov in the West, Adolfov in the northwest and Nakléřov in the Northeast.

History

Already since 1371 tin mining was operated at the Tellnitz. On the upper Winterleite ( Rudny vrch ) originated pits and soaps. In addition to the hybrid and iron, lead, copper, zinc and silver was recovered.

Looking down the valley barley emerged on the territory of the reign scattered settlements of miners and loggers, of which Hintertellnitz was the oldest. 1580 was a division of the Tellnitztales under several owners. This got the upper village Hintertellnitz to the manorial Schöbritz while Mitteltellnitz belonged to Schönwalder and Vordertellnitz to Chelmno possession.

Most important was the owner Geisinger mining Tern Ehmer Kölbel family that owned to 1627 together with Kulm and Schöbritz large parts of Tellnitz. In the Berni rula 15 houses were reported for the entire Tellnitztal, three of which were desolate. The colonization of the valley grew, mills were built and 1833 were already 50 houses in which 246 people lived. Previously, the place during the Napoleonic Wars in 1813 at the Battle of Kulm scene of battles and suffered heavy damage.

In 1840, Count Ledebur build a small castle. At the time of replacement of patrimonial regimes in 1850 front and Mitteltellnitz was Count von Westphalen on Kulm and Schoenwald and Hintertellnitz the Ledebur belonging to Schöbritz. The settlement expanded down the valley and on Arbesauer corridors was another settlement, which was the Arbesauer district Tellnitz. There was in 1860 a small chapel. Administratively formed Tellnitz from the mid-19th century, a municipality in the district court or in the district Karbitz Aussig.

1871 took the Dux Bodenbacher railway on the operation and between Vordertellnitz and Arbesau was a train stop. 1910 built by the Count von Westphalen a church. During this time, the front, middle and Hintertellnitz were combined to form a community Tellnitz. During the floods in the Eastern Ore Mountains 1927 Tellnitz was severely affected. Since the beginning of the 20th century many of the Tellnitzer worked in the granite quarries and 1912 Tellnitz was developed by the electric tram from Usti ago. This also developed tourism. The population grew to about 3,000.

In 1960, the incorporation of Varvažov. At this time, a sharp decline in population had been used in Telnice after the cessation of mining. The nucleus consists of the local documents Přední Telnice ( Vordertellnitz ), which forms the center of the resort, while Prostřední Telnice ( Mitteltellnitz ) and Zadnà Telnice ( Hintertellnitz ) today almost exclusively consist of cottages.

In the district Zadnà Telnice is a winter sports center, there are seven ski lifts operated. The ski club Telnice is the second largest in the Czech Republic. 1965 for the first time a lance was brought into use in socialism, today the resort is prepared with snow-making processes and slope devices.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Telnice Liboňov (read village) and Varvažov ( Arbesau ), at the same time also form Katastralbezirke. Basic settlement units are Adolfov, Liboňov, Telnice, U Stare Posty, Varvažov and Zadnà Telnice ( Hintertellnitz ).
