Telšiai Cathedral

The Cathedral of St. Anthony of Padua in the Lithuanian city of Telšiai is the Roman Catholic Church Bishop of the Diocese of Telšiai.

The 1765 built in the style of the Baroque and Neoclassical church became the foundation of the diocese in 1926 in the rank of a cathedral. It is the only two-storey Church of Lithuania. The church has 7 altars, of which two central altars equipped. The central altar on the upper level is dedicated to Anthony of Padua, one of the major saints within the Franciscan Order. The crypt of the cathedral is also the grave lay the bishops of Telšiai, 3 of them are already buried here.
